Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 

I’ve been very quiet, watching and listening to all the opinions about the candidates running in this election. I’ve watched the debates. Listened to media.  Oh my goodness! Mouth dropping. What a circus it’s been. Monkeys and Gorillas everywhere! 

I challenge you to prayer if you have not voted yet. I zipped my lips and asked God to place on my heart, how to vote. I was reminded that God does not always call the perfected person. That’s reflected throughout the Bible. Paul, David, Moses – it’s quite a list. God chooses whom He chooses. And there is a difference in being called and being chosen by God. Often, we tend to innertwine the two. We all have faults and God can bring beauty for ashes. God can use all of us in unique and impactual ways. He even can use politicians! 

This election is important. Take it seriously. I’ve heard people say they were not even going to vote. Voting is not only a civic duty it is a privilege that people fought for.  Seek Gods face. Search your heart. Leave party aside. Vote! Remembering God establishes the government. 

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 

Proverbs 28:2 When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order. 

Colossians 1:16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
